Officially we’re the Devon Area but for the time being we are also looking after Cornwall.  Our main event is the Start Bay Rally & Race held in July in Start Bay off Dartmouth.  We have a Fitting-out  Supper in March/April usually in the Plymouth area and a Laying-up Lunch the first weekend in November in a central Devon location adjacent to the A38 for easy access.  During the winter months Informal Get-togethers are arranged in pubs across Devon and each year there are usually a couple of trips to traditional boatyards such as Stirling & Son.  Will and Sara Stirling will be familiar to readers of Classic Boat.   “We publish our newsletter “The Dog Watch” several times a year.” Contact the area:  Area President: Mike Lucas Tel: 01803 212818 e-mail: president@devongaffers.org.uk   Area Secretary: Gil Hayward Tel: 01803 722274 e-mail: devsec@oldgaffersassociation.org
