© Old Gaffers Association January 2012 The OGA Boat Archive If you own a gaff-rigged boat, it is very important that she is recorded on the OGA Boat Archive, the only register of gaff-rigged boats in the world.  It is today regarded as an important part of our Maritime Heritage and with its combination of old and new boats is a unique record of the development of the rig. Because the Archive easily gets out of date, we ask all members to provide current information so we can improve the accuracy of what we have.  We need also to ensure that we have your permission to use the information. The Data Protection Act forbids us to publish it if we don't. Using this form, we ask you to provide very basic information about your boat.  This is sufficient to ensure you will have an entry in the published Archive.  It also allows us to keep track of boats that have changed hands and ensure that the right owner's name is shown for each boat.  As this form only provides basic information, and we wish to record more details about your boats and their history, we would like you to donate as much information to the archive as you can.  Please send any additional data with the form, or as it comes to hand, to my address below. You can complete this form and e-mail it to me, boatregister@oldgaffersassociation.org or print this form and return the completed form to me, Pat Dawson, The Belvedere, Victoria Road, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, PO41 0QW A printable boat handicap form is available here and an on-line one here Several areas maintain their local database, but the OGA is currently working on a national on-line database which will be available to all members Old Gaffers Association - Vilma, Tops'l Schooner The Old Gaffers Association: Formed in 1963 to promote Gaff Rig THE Association for Gaff Rig and Traditional Boat Sailing
