| OGA
TROPHIES
Apart from local area
trophies, the Oga has seven "Association" trophies which are awarded to
members, hopefully on an annual basis, but sometimes ad
hoc.
Cape Horn Trophy

For the past couple of years this
has not been awarded. We would like
to award this trophy annually and we are therefore looking to you, the members
to put forward nominations, stating your reasons why your nominee deserves the
award, so that they can be judged and the trophy once again awarded each
year.
The criteria for this award
are:
For
outstanding seamanship performed by an individual in a single occurrence e.g. a
rescue
OR
A most
interesting log.
We need your input so please put
forward your nominations, in writing, to Sue Farrer so that these can be passed
on to our judges for their final decision.
May we please receive nominations,
together with your reasons, by the 31st October in order to give our
judges sufficient time to finalise a nominee.
Alan
Hidden Trophy

Alan Hidden very kindly left the
Association monies in his will and it has been decided that we create a trophy
in his memory.
This we have done and the
criterion is:
“For the best outstanding
performance by a young person (under 25 years of age)”
We need you to nominate a young
person to whom you feel this trophy should be awarded. Please send your nominations to
Sue Farrer together with a brief description, to me before the
31st October. They will
then be passed to the judges for their final
decision.
Please get your thinking caps on
and contact me should you want any more information.
David Cade
Memorial Trophy
This trophy has been donated to
the Association by Alison Cade (David’s wife) and is awarded annually to a
member who has made the most outstanding contribution to the Association during
the year. The recipient of the

(GMC)
This trophy is currently held
by Dave Keller.
All trophies will be awarded at
the Annual General Meeting held at the Cruising Association in London in January.
