2003 Photograph Competition
|

On March the 15th 2003, the Northern Ireland OGA Area Committee met at Royal North of Ireland Yacht
Club to have their Annual Committee dinner. After the dinner was over, those on the committee who did
not have an entry in the competition were elected to judge the entries in the 2003 Photograph Competition.
They were left alone with the entries and after prolonged deliberation produced their selection as
the winning photographs.
As usual we had 2 classes, the Best Gaff Rig Photograph and the
Best General Sailing Photograph. All photographs were entered into both classes. We had a total
of 33 photographs entered by the gaffers listed below.

me.

For this competition there is an upper size constraint on the photographs you may enter in the competition,
you may enter the competition with any size photograph, postcard size or bigger, up to 12" x 10" that
you have. The winning photos will again be covers for the Gaffers Log and the prizes are worth having
as well, a total of £250. Entered Photographs will appear on the website Photo Comp Rules 2004
1. Categories A/ Best Photograph of a GAFF RIGGED BOAT B/ Best General Sailing Photograph
2. Each entry should be postcard size or bigger. 3. The competition is open to all fully paid up members
of the O.G.A. Entries from professional photographers are not allowed. 4. All entries must have
on the reverse side, a/ Name & Membership No b/ Subject of Photo + Date + venue if possible.
5. By entering the competition, entrants will be giving the O.G.A. permission to publish your photograph
to further the aims of the O.G.A. 6. Entry is free to paid up members of the O.G.A. 7. There is
no limit to the number of entries from any one person but there is no category for professional photographers.
